Armed Security Specialist (Full-Time)

Overview Providence Security Services (PSS) is a premium security firm built on decades of law enforcement and public safety leadership experience. We are expanding into Wisconsin due to continued growth and demand for high-level security services. We are seeking experienced, professional Armed Security Specialists for a seasonal assignment (June through August) at a private residential campus in Webster, WI. We have openings for weekend and night shifts, with part-time and casual positions available. This role requires strong situational awareness, proactive patrol, and the ability to operate independently while maintaining a calm, professional presence. This is a summer assignment with a defined timeframe, with strong potential for continued employment based on performance as PSS continues to expand.

Ideal for candidates seeking flexible, well-paid supplemental shifts. Essential Job Duties / Responsibilities In this role, your primary responsibility is to maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, staff, and property while preventing unauthorized or unsafe activity. This position requires a proactive approach, strong judgment, and the ability to respond effectively to incidents in a structured residential campus environment with seasonal occupancy . The employee will be responsible for: Maintain a visible and professional armed security presence Conduct routine and random patrols of buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter Monitor cameras, alarms, intercoms, and access control systems Identify and report suspicious activity, hazards, maintenance issues, or policy violations Ensure only authorized individuals are present on property Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner Assist with resident or staff concerns and coordinate with property staff or emergency services when needed Remove trespassers or unauthorized individuals when necessary Maintain strong situational awareness in all environments Document all patrol activity, incidents, and observations clearly and accurately Provide professional customer service to residents, guests, and vendors Follow all site procedures, post orders, and company standards Minimum Qualifications & Requirements (Strictly Enforced) Applicants must meet Wisconsin armed security requirements under SPS 34.03 and be fully licensed and eligible to work in an armed capacity prior to assignment. You must meet ONE of the following: Completed 36 hours of firearms training within the past 5 years and are currently eligible to work as an armed security officer in Wisconsin Completed at least 30 hours of firearms training (WI or equivalent), have qualifying prior armed or peace officer experience within the past 5 years, and will complete the required 6-hour annual refresher training with demonstrated proficiency

Required Credentials:

Valid Wisconsin Private Security Person License Valid Wisconsin Class D Security Guard License Active WI DSPS Firearms Permit (required prior to assignment) Completion of required firearms training under

WI SPS 34.03

Valid Driver's License Ability to pass

WI DSPS / FBI

background check and drug screening

Experience & Professional Standards:

Prior law enforcement, military, corrections, or armed security experience required Strong situational awareness and sound decision-making ability Ability to work independently without direct supervision High level of integrity, professionalism, and reliability Strong observational skills and attention to detail Clear communication and accurate report writing

$28.00 - $40.00 per hour Application Question(s): Do you have prior experience working security, event staff, law enforcement, military, or a similar role involving public safety or crowd management? Do you currently hold a Wisconsin Private Security Person Permit, or would you be willing to obtain one if hired? Will you be able to reliably commute to/from Eau Claire/Hudson WI area for this job? Assignments require long shifts outdoors and remain attentive for the duration of the event. Are you able to commit to working your assigned shifts and remaining professional throughout the event Can you pass a DPS/FBI criminal background check?
