Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (national or state level) highly valued. Flexibility, patience, and a collaborative mindset.Role Responsibilities:
Translate spoken or written communication into ASL and vice versa during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events. Foster a supportive classroom environment by ensuring accessible communication for students and staff. Collaborate with educators and other professionals to address individual student needs. Provide interpretation for parent-teacher conferences, assemblies, and extracurricular activities as required.
