Job Description

Position Summary This position is responsible for working as part of a team of mechanics to assemble and test complex aircraft ground support and aviation equipment with hand and power tools. Working at bench or on shop floor while adhering to productivity and quality standards. Will be expected to assemble, tear down, troubleshoot, and reassembly as necessary. This is a high-mix, low volume environment where mechanical skill and aptitude are needed to assemble a very broad product line of mechanical and powered products and jacks. Essential Functions
  • Position parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled by following blueprints/technical drawings.
  • Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets or other fasteners, using various hand tools.
  • Ability to follow direction. Qualifications
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Prior experience as a Mechanic, preferably with ground support equipment, or other complex industrial machine preferred o 1 - 2 year related experience with hydraulic, electrical and mechanical assemblies.
  • Read and interpret blue prints, bills of materials, safety rules,
  • Read and interpret operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to bend, kneel and stoop frequently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to follow all safety requirements.
  • Ability to work in small areas in order to perform the work.
  • Ability to work with both arms extended for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to climb step ladders, work platforms as needed.
