Assistant Coach, Athletics/Residence Hall Manager/Attendant Department:

Exempt Job Summary :
Assists the Athletic Head Coach in the planning and supervision of practices, scouting, and recruiting. Aids in the coaching of student athletes during competition. Serves as an on-site member of the Residence Hall Staff, responsible for administration, supervision, safety, and student services within their assigned residence hall. Acts as liaison with the Sports Information Director (SID) for their assigned sport.
Minimum Required Education:
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of experience and education that yields the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Minimum Required Experience:
Preferred:
Experience as an assistant coach.
Preferred:
Experience in student services, student life, or as a Residence Hall Manager.
Preferred:
Two to three years of supervision/management experience.
Preferred:
Commercial Driver's License.
Core Duties and Required Knowledge:
Assists with practice planning, weight training, team meetings, study halls, and game-day coaching. Supports recruiting and scouting efforts for prospective student athletes. Supervises 75-150 resident students and enforces campus and residence life policies. Maintains a safe and respectful residence hall environment. Participates in the opening and closing of residence halls and student check-in/check-out procedures. Attends mandatory meetings and submits incident-related documentation as required. Collaborates with Campus Safety on emergencies, security, and safety protocols. Coordinates with the SID for media promotion and maintains compliance with social media guidelines.
Strategic Vision and Program Development:
Collaborates with the Athletic Head Coach to contribute to the development of competitive athletic programs. Supports the vision and mission of Hill College through the residence life experience and athletic participation.
Collaboration:
Works collaboratively with coaches, students, the Dean of Students & Athletics, Campus Safety, and other departments. Coordinates with residence hall and student experience staff to support student well-being and success. Acts as a liaison with the Sports Information Director to support team and athlete visibility. Demonstrates a commitment to maintaining a welcoming and safe environment that provides a sense of belonging for all.
Demonstrated Attributes:
Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to mediate and resolve conflict while promoting diversity and inclusion. Organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional conduct. Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook). Demonstrated initiative and commitment to ongoing learning.
Other Information:
Position requires evening and weekend availability. Must live on-site in the assigned residence hall. Responsible for securing resident hall property and maintaining confidentiality.
Physical Requirements:
Medium work; exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Use of arm and/or leg controls may require exertion greater than that for light work.
