Job Description

Assistant Director - Program & Compliance Cambridge Academy | DeSoto, TX Position Overview Cambridge Academy is seeking a hands-on Assistant Director to support daily operations, ensure compliance, and coach teachers to execute at a high level. This is not a desk role. You will be on the floor , actively observing classrooms, supporting teachers in real time, and ensuring that all standards are consistently followed. The ideal candidate is someone who can: step in and stabilize situations when needed coach teachers to improve performance and hold staff accountable to expectations through consistent follow-through Key ResponsibilitiesClassroom Oversight & Daily Execution Conduct frequent walkthroughs of all classrooms throughout the day Identify and correct issues in real time Ensure classrooms remain structured, organized, and fully functional Maintain awareness of ratios, supervision, and classroom flow Teacher Coaching & Support Step into classrooms when needed to stabilize and support teachers Provide real-time coaching and feedback to improve performance Help teachers build consistency in routines, transitions, and classroom management Follow up with teachers to ensure improvement—not just one-time correction Compliance & Accountability Ensure adherence to all licensing standards and internal procedures Monitor key safety practices, including supervision and accountability procedures Reinforce expectations through consistent follow-up and presence Address small issues early before they become larger problems Observation & Documentation Complete regular classroom observations Document concerns, patterns, and follow-ups Track improvement and recurring issues across classrooms Maintain clear communication with leadership regarding performance trends Transitions & Supervision Be present and actively engaged during key transitions Ensure proper supervision and accountability practices are followed Identify and correct gaps immediately What We're Looking For Strong classroom experience (childcare or early education required) Ability to notice small details and act on them immediately Comfortable giving direct feedback and holding expectations Able to balance supporting teachers while maintaining standards Organized and consistent in follow-through Calm under pressure and able to manage multiple priorities Work Environment Fast-paced, hands-on role Requires continuous movement and active monitoring throughout the day You will be in classrooms, hallways, and common areas—not behind a desk Schedule Full-time position Hours based on operational needs of the center Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary (based on experience) Performance-based bonus opportunities Paid holidays PTO and sick time Professional development opportunities Why Cambridge Academy We are focused on building a high-quality early learning environment through strong systems, consistent execution, and continuous improvement.
