Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team and drive operational excellence. In this pivotal role, you will support the hotel's leadership team in managing daily operations, supervising staff, and ensuring exceptional customer service. Your energetic approach and strong management skills will help foster a positive guest experience and uphold company standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to lead with enthusiasm, develop team talent, and contribute to the hotel's success. Responsibilities Assist in overseeing daily operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high productivity. Lead and motivate team members through effective training, coaching, and employee training programs. Manage revenue optimization, including pricing strategies, house inventory control, and training front desk staff on sales strategies. Supervise cashiering functions, cash handling procedures, POS (Point of Sale) systems such as OPERA, and customer service interactions. Coordinate recruiting efforts by interviewing candidates and participating in hiring decisions to build a strong team. Oversee payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, and manage budgets to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency. Implement marketing initiatives to promote sales and enhance customer engagement through effective communication skills. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, brand requirements, and operational standards while supervising shift management. Handle purchasing decisions and inventory management to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize shrinkage. Qualifications Proven experience as an assistant manager or in a hospitality management role with demonstrated leadership skills. Strong background in sales, inventory management, merchandising, and cash handling procedures. Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse customer bases. Proficiency with POS systems including OPERA and/or HotelKey, retail math, budgeting tools, and administrative software. Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, employee orientation, interviewing techniques, and team supervision. Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently with exceptional organizational skills and time management. Previous experience in hotels or similar hospitality environments is preferred but not required. Demonstrated ability to train staff effectively while fostering a positive workplace culture focused on customer service excellence.
