Role Description This is a full-time on-site Assistant Business Manager position located in West Covina, CA at Massage Envy. The Assistant Business Manager "ABM" is responsible for supporting the Business Manager "BM" in running the daily operations of the clinic and the clinic staff to drive and produce a profitable, professional, and safe work environment. The ABM can assist with hiring and coaching clinic staff members and trains them in all ME and company operations and policies. Their objective is to have a knowledgeable, professional, and motivated team focusing on clients and the profitability of the business.

Business Manager and Franchise Owner Function:
Assists in the daily operations of the clinic Leadership & Team Management Assist in making the schedule at least 2 weeks in advance Communicate and organize upcoming promos, events, and training Look at schedule 3 months in advance and make sure breaks are in place and schedule is accurate Assist in approving or denying and record all requested time off Communicate all employee accomplishments (reviews, direct client feedback, retail sales, membership sales) Supervise, train, coach, and mentor staff (sales associates, managers, massage therapists, estheticians, etc.). Set expectations, review performance regularly, and address performance issues. Coach and train customer service mindset. Anticipate and mitigate customer service Issues. Handle escalated customer situations. Daily huddles - daily focus Follow up with all employees who attend training classes or meetings Provide immediate feedback, both positive as well as constructive Ensure all associates are mentioning GC's, pre-booking, promos, retail Primarily coach and train sales associate new hires as well as current staff Assist with employee performance reviews Meet with sales associates one-on-one monthly Assist in hiring potential new team members Duties Full-time employment, 40 hours per week minimum, you may be asked to work overtime Uphold all Massage Envy Protocols and Policies Lead by example; Live the ME mission and values Assist Business Manager in all duties Maintain an impeccable, professional, and clean clinic Check ME email daily Respond to all emails Make critical decisions such as compensating clients when needed, customer complaints, etc. Set daily individual goals such as gift cards, NPS, retail, memberships sales, etc. Update all goal boards daily. Front and Back goals and results. Follow up to make sure communication board is up to date Follow up with employees in charge of specific duties; all inventory is complete; suspends are being completed, looking at specific reports Achieve monthly team sales goals Be present for regional visits Be available for management meetings Be available for training classes Achieve own monthly sales goals Maintain employee files, checklists, trainings, licenses, background checks etc. Assist in setting up training for new employees Understand and review franchise portal Record all pertinent information Respond to work-related text messages Operations & Service Oversee day-to-day operations of the franchised location. Ensure a clean, safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for guests and employees. Monitor and manage inventory, Register, and other operational details. Assist with processing membership freezes and cancellations. Complete required tasks such as inventory on time. Manage membership suspensions. Ensure compliance with state, local and corporate regulations and policies. Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training employees. Sales & Business Growth Develop and foster a sales culture (role playing, objection handling). Drive membership sales and promote retail product sales to meet revenue and profitability goals. Maintain sales closing of 20%+ Set goals and drive results. Partner with the business manager and the franchise owner to establish targets and monitor performance. Motivate and inspire team. Identify and develop underperformers. People Attract and retain talent. Assist in managing and developing all team members consisting of managers, sales associates, massage therapists & estheticians. Drive a culture of positivity, collaboration and continuous improvement Customer Service Look at all Inmoments surveys - close and call clients if necessary Handle and resolve all member/ guest issues Providing excellent service to members/guests by answering phone calls, setting appointments, greeting members/ guests upon arrival, and selling memberships. Assist in member retention Qualifications 2+ years of experience in spa or retail management is preferred AA (associate degree) or higher is preferred Schedule flexibility and availability for nights and weekends Strong organizational and multitasking skills Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills Experience with booking and POS systems Expects high standard of professionalism from themselves and their staff Always look and act professionally Understands that as a member of management, you will be asked to take emergency calls at times, and while we do our best to minimize this, we do ask that you are committed to supporting your staff Must be sales and customer service oriented Must communicate effectively and articulately, verbally and written, and in courteous and professional manners on a regular basis. This communication can extend to members, guests, staff, managers, regional developers, franchise owners and beyond.
