Immediately Job Description Hudsonville Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Music Educator to join our performing arts team. This dual-role position involves teaching daily instrumental music classes at both the Middle School and High School levels, while serving as the Assistant Marching Band Director. The ideal candidate will foster a culture of musical excellence, inclusivity, and discipline. You will work closely with the Marching Band Director and Music department to design curriculum, lead rehearsals, and elevate the visibility of our award-winning music program within the community. Essential Responsibilities Instructional (Middle & High School) Lead daily concert band and/or jazz ensemble rehearsals for grades [6-12]. Provide differentiated instruction for woodwind, brass, and percussion sections. Evaluate student progress through performance assessments and chair auditions. Manage classroom environment to ensure a safe, productive, and musically focused atmosphere. Marching Band (Assistant Director) Assist in the instruction of marching fundamentals, visual drill, and musical execution during summer "Band Camp" and after-school rehearsals. Attend and supervise students at all home/away football games, parades, and MSBOA (Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association) festivals. Collaborate on show design, including music selection and drill charting. Coordinate with the Band Boosters to manage logistics, equipment, and travel. Qualifications & RequirementsEducation:
Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from an accredited institution.Certification:
Must hold a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with the Music Education (JQ) endorsement.Position Type:
