Job Description

Job Title:
Assistant Operations Manager (Manufacturing) About the
Role:
We are looking for a "hat-wearer"—someone who thrives in the heart of production and can seamlessly transition between technical scheduling, financial stewardship, and people management. As a key leader in an established Extrusion Operation, you will help manage the daily flow of custom plastic products for global industries while ensuring business remains efficient and cost-effective.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Scheduling & MRP:
Take a hands-on approach to managing our Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and production schedules.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
Assist the Operations Manager in preparing annual budgets and monthly forecasts. You will monitor expenditures in real-time, tracking variances in labor and material costs to ensure operations remain within financial targets.
Operational Oversight:
Learn the "ins and outs" of our extrusion equipment. While you won't necessarily be using hand tools, you must be mechanically inclined enough to troubleshoot workflow bottlenecks and optimize machine efficiency to reduce waste.
Team Leadership:
Assist in managing and coaching production workers. You'll foster a "no-drama" environment, ensuring the team stays motivated and adheres to high safety and quality standards.
Adaptability:
Stay flexible. While a typical day is 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM (M-F), manufacturing needs can shift, and you must be willing to adjust your schedule to keep the floor running.
What We're Looking For:
Financial Literacy:
Proven experience in managing or assisting with departmental budgets, including a focus on cost-saving initiatives and resource allocation. The "Right Fit": You are a high-integrity communicator who values a family-business atmosphere where politics are left at the door.
Mechanical Aptitude:
A natural curiosity for how things work and the ability to become an expert on our specific extrusion processes.
Manufacturing Experience:
At least 3+ years in a production environment, specifically with scheduling, MRP systems, or operations support.
Position Details:
Type:
Hourly (Starting rate negotiable based on experience).
Shift:
Typically Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM (flexibility required).
Opportunity:
Long-term career path within a stable, industry-leading company.
