POSITION SUMMARY
Goshen College invites applications for a full-time appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor of Nursing. This position requires that the applicant be a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to guide the curriculum of this graduate program under the guidance of NONPF criteria and maintain the program's accreditation standards while adapting to the AACN's level two competency-based model of nursing education.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
) The director of the MSN program has the following responsibilities in alignment with the National Task Force, 2022, Standards for quality nurse practitioner education: Guides the Master's of Science in Nursing program in adherence to the policies and procedures for accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), and the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF). Facilitates curriculum coordination and planning for the graduate program. Serves as chair of the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) sub-committee or designee. Recommends to the department chair all courses to be taught in the Master's program. Collaborates with the department chair to determine faculty loads and to set FTE goals. Participates in policy development related to the running and functioning of the MSN program within the nursing department, in collaboration with the MSN sub-committee and the Chair. This is an exempt position. The director of the master's program in nursing is appointed by the president upon recommendation by the dean. This recommendation generally reflects department consensus. The appointment is continuous, dependent on satisfactory performance. This position functions as a program director with the authority granted within that role. They are responsible for the decision-making for their program of study and are to execute their expertise in that field in collaboration with the Chair of the department. The position includes both internal and external engagement, for example: Collaborates and coordinates the contracts and other responsibilities related to clinical agencies utilized in the graduate program, and may delegate portions of this work to other appropriate nursing faculty. Serves as the point of contact for this program with outside entities. Represents the graduate program in nursing to clinical agencies and provides oversight to student activities with agency personnel.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Provides supervision of the graduate faculty, offering input into evaluations, load, and clinical site supervisions, less than 5 graduate faculty Provides direct supervision of a certified nurse practitioner carrying a different specialty certification, if additional master's level tracks are developed in the future.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must be doctoral-level prepared or willing to enroll and complete a doctorate in nursing practice or an equivalent doctoral degree, within three years of hire. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must hold a credentialing certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Maintains currency in practice (at the minimum level of clinical hours) in accordance with their accrediting body. Unencumbered Indiana Nursing license
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Required:
Facilitates professional development of the faculty teaching in the MSN program. Submits graduate catalog revisions for the graduate college catalog. Facilitates advising of graduate nursing students to assist them in achieving academic and professional goals. Responsible for the recruitment of students in the graduate program in Nursing. Provides oversight for activities related to certification, including student preparation and application for certification, keeping abreast of changes in regulations, and evaluating student performance. Collaborates in the planning and allocation of program resources with input from faculty, department chair, and consultation from the college Administration. Prepares an annual report for the graduate program, submitted to the academic dean of the college. Actively participates in the year-round teaching program. Supervises the maintenance of records for each student in the graduate program in nursing.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Evening classes on Tues and Wednesday requiring supervision- classes run from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm Required to be on campus minimum of four days per week Occasional travel to events and conferences required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift light loads (up to 25 pounds) Prolonged sitting and use of keyboard Ability to complete primary tasks by viewing computer screen(s) for the majority of any given work day (extensive use of computer technology) Considerable phone use and operation of copier and other standard office equipment
WORK ENVIRONMENT/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Work will primarily take place in a standard indoor office environment May need to maneuver simulated patients or set up for students to complete simulations All of the essential job functions are subject to reasonable accommodation.
