Position Summary:
The middle school assistant principal is responsible to assist the middle school principal with the operation of Marshwood Middle School.
Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of experience in School Administration Master's Degree or higher in education Valid MDOE Administrator's Certification Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Duties and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities outlined below are representative and do not encompass or define all tasks that may be required by this position. Supervises the discipline and attendance programs. Implement the school's discipline code Inform the principal of unusual circumstances Make recommendations regarding changes in the discipline code Oversee the attendance process Monitor students' attendance and take appropriate action Make recommendations regarding cases of serious poor attendance or serious discipline problems Evaluates staff as assigned. Assist in the orientation process Observe and evaluate staff, especially new staff Support staff development and improvement Collaborates with building based team on issues related to instructional leadership Participate in building and/or district level committees Use data to engage in conversations about student achievement and school improvement Assigns duties. Prepare lunch duty schedule Prepare bus duty schedule
