Under the direction of the Principal, the Assistant Principal assists in the coordination, supervision, and management of the school program and operations. This role supports instructional leadership, staff development, student achievement, and school-wide initiatives to ensure a safe, productive, and collaborative learning environment.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
Master's Degree in Educational Administration. Eligibility for Virginia Postgraduate License with the appropriate administration endorsement. Preferred Extensive administrative and educational experience. Experience in teaching and school administration. Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. •A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Serve as an assistant to the Principal, providing leadership and direction to teachers and support staff. Act as an instructional leader by reviewing and analyzing data to guide school efforts toward high academic performance for all students. Interpret and communicate School Board policies, procedures, and guidelines to staff, parents, and the community. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and division policies, particularly in programs for academically talented students and special education. Assist in the management of extracurricular programs, including athletics, performing arts, and academic clubs. Support the Principal in staffing decisions, recruitment, selection, and assignment of school personnel in collaboration with the Director of Instruction and Director of Human Resources. Assist with school budget preparation, monitoring, and management of activity fund accounts. Represent the school at meetings, conferences, hearings, and public forums; gather and respond to parent and community input. Support transformation of school culture into a collaborative, results-oriented learning community. Assess student learning and assist teachers in differentiating instruction to meet group and individual needs. Ensure implementation of the approved Nottoway County Public Schools curriculum. Assist in coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other school support services; conduct safety inspections and drills as needed. Maintain student discipline and support a safe, orderly learning environment. Work with parents, faculty, and student groups to advance educational objectives. Identify students' special needs and coordinate support with system specialists. Supervise teachers and departments as assigned by the Principal. Guide teachers in evaluating methods, materials, and classroom management techniques. Perform other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to use a telephone and to enter data into a computer terminal; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; to hear, understand speech, and speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly at normal levels indoors and on the telephone. Physical agility to drive, bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, crawl, walk, push, pull, and reach overhead.
