Position:
AP of Testing and Accountability FLSA Status:
Exempt Reports to: Head of School
Desired Education/Experience:
Masters Degree with at least 15 years experience in education.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Purpose:
To coordinate all phases of implementation, analysis and reporting of results related to federal, state and district assessment and accountability programs. Accountability Attend monthly regional accountability meetings and training. Provide the Regional Accountability Office with reports and student data as needed Monitor the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction Testing News Network daily for updates, program changes, and procedural policies and respond appropriately. Complete the verification accommodations data process weekly as required by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Complete and download the Student with Disabilities Collection process to audit what has been submitted from CECAS to Accountability for subgroups. Run reports through the secure shell, as directed by the Regional Accountability Office, to be distributed to specific departments or personnel. Run reports, collect data, and communicate updates and changes in policy and procedures as directed by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Maintain data and complete the Economically Disadvantage and Poverty Level reports. Verify the end of the year accountability reports by the due date. Submit member and data files for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction periodically when required throughout the year. Monitor the monthly historical testing audit to ensure data is being entered correctly. Verify and submit through the secure shell all Graduation Cohort documentation. Develop a document that highlights records retention required by the NC Department of Cultural Resources. Keep abreast of required policies and changes under the Read to Achieve program. Monitor portfolios and documentation for the Read to Achieve program. Continue to reevaluate policies and procedures and make improvements as needed. Meet all deadlines from the Regional Accountability Office and document all events on the Quality Assurance form. Testing Coordinator Supervise all testing and test-related activities. Develop policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and integrity of the testing program. Work with the Headmaster concerning breaches of test security, loss of materials, or any other deviation from required security procedures. Attend training as required through the year. Manage teacher NC Education Accounts. Ensure EOG/EOC practice activities required by NCDPI are completed by teachers. Create testing summaries for the Headmaster and Board as directed. Maintain confidential historical accountability records of individual and school wide testing results. Provide data, support and testing and policy resources and changes to teachers and administrators. Provide assistance to administrators and faculty in analyzing data. Develop a testing training program for each test required throughout the year. Train all staff/faculty members that will be involved in testing.
Testing:
BOG, W-APT, PSAT, PLAN, ASPIRE, WIDA-ACCESS, EOC, EOG, NCExtend1, ACT, CTE, LEP, NC Finals, AP. Organize the ASVAB test to be administered yearly to interested students. Develop a testing calendar for the school year and share with faculty, staff, students and parents. Develop local policies and procedures to ensure maximum test security in coordination with the policies and procedures developed by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Organize, manage and implement all standardized testing including distribution and collection of secure test materials. Develop a school wide testing plan for administering tests under secure conditions. Maintain accurate records of student membership and identify students who are eligible to take each test ensuring that all eligible students are tested. Ensure historical testing data is maintained in PowerSchool/Infinite Campus. Order sufficient copies of test materials and store them in a secured locked location. Account to North Carolina Department of Public Instruction for all test materials. Register students via NC Registration for all online testing. Download and verify students are listed in NC Test along with any approved accommodations. Verify all testing rosters through the NC Registration along with creating testing sessions, matching assessors, and completing the student identification information. In conjunction with program administrators, ensure the need for test accommodations is documented and the accommodations are limited to the specific need. Monitor to ensure all documented accommodations were actually provided to students and to what extent the accommodations were used by the students during test administrations. Declare a test misadministration, when appropriate, using appropriate procedures and documentation. Investigate all reports of testing irregularities and/or violations of ethical testing practice and immediately report them to the Headmaster. Maintain a record of students with accommodations for testing. Work closely with the EC department to ensure testing accommodations are clearly specified following NCDPI requirements. Train all school personnel that administer and/or proctor tests on the appropriate use of test materials, test security, and the NC Testing Code of Ethics including the appropriate use of and procedures for testing accommodations. Provide teachers and instructional support staff with assistance in developing and using local assessments to better align instruction to student needs. Provide testing results to administration, teachers and parents. Distribute individual student results. Collaborate with the technology department to ensure software is available on computers. 3. Physical Requirements:
Position requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
Interpersonal Communication:
Requires the ability to speak and/or signal people to convey or exchange information. This includes giving instructions, assignments or directions to parents, students, and staff.
Verbal Aptitude:
Requires the ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow written and oral instructions. You must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in Standard English.
Numerical Aptitude:
Requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Interpersonal Temperament:
Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. You must be adaptable to performing under minimal to moderate levels of stress.
Assessment:
Performance of this job will be assessed annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on assessment of administrative personnel.
Terms of Employment:
Salary and work year as established by the Board.
