Job Description
SUPERINTENDENT
Key Responsibilities On-Site Management- Supervise all phases of on-site construction including excavation, plumbing, steel, gunite, tile, decking, equipment installation, and startup.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, deliveries, and inspections.
- Document build the POTG Way in BuilderTrend
- Completes designated checklists
- Communicate effectively with client
- Identify any issues on site that would affect client expectations/POTG expectations communicate these up to Project Manager and Construction Manager
- Act as the on-site point of contact for clients, inspectors, and contractors.
- Conduct site walkthroughs and update clients as needed.
- Lead daily crew briefings and ensure clear communication across teams. Scheduling & Coordination
- Maintain and update daily construction schedules in BuilderTrend.
- Monitor progress to ensure deadlines and milestones are met.
- Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to maintain workflow.
- Identify any issues that will delay build cycle times and job estimates to Project Manager and Construction Manager. Quality & Safety Oversight
- Enforce jobsite safety protocols and conduct safety checks when crews on site.
- Ensure materials delivered to job site match selections and contract
- Inspect all phases of work to ensure quality and compliance with plans/specifications.
- Address and resolve any issues or delays on-site in real time. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily job logs, photos, and field reports within BuilderTrend
- Track labor, material usage, and any changes or issues encountered on the jobsite and communicate to Project Manager and M.
- Report progress and issues to the Project Manager or General Manager. Company Culture and Standards
- Ensure you keep the highest company standards in place, wearing of company logo shirts free of stains, wrinkles and damages
- Ensure safe operation of company fleet vehicles and tools
- Ensure all communications while representing the company reflect the values, mission and culture of Pools on the Gulf Key Skills and Qualifications 1. Pool Construction Knowledge
- Deep understanding of the various gunite pool construction methods and how to build and install the necessary pool components (e.g., LDS, plumbing, filtration systems, equipment, water chemistry and pool finishes).
- Familiarity with pool-related electrical and plumbing systems (e.g., pumps, heaters, ozone and saltwater systems). 2. Project Management Skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills to keep the project on schedule and ensure resources are used effectively.
- Experience managing multiple tasks or teams simultaneously. 3. Leadership and Team Management
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of workers, subcontractors, and other professionals.
- Ability to provide clear instructions, resolve conflicts, and maintain a productive work environment. 4. Safety Knowledge
- A solid understanding of construction site safety, including OSHA regulations and pool-specific safety protocols.
- Ability to conduct safety meetings, enforce safety policies, and ensure compliance on-site. 5. Problem-Solving Skills
- Ability to troubleshoot construction issues, resolve conflicts, and manage problems effectively as they arise on-site.
- Proactive approach to anticipating potential issues before they become significant problems. 6. Communication Skills
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients, project managers, subcontractors, and workers.
- Ability to explain complex technical issues in a clear and understandable manner. 7. Attention to Detail
- Keen attention to detail to ensure high-quality work and adherence to specifications. 8. Technology Proficiency
- Familiarity with construction management software (Buildertrend) to track project progress, schedules, and budgets.
- Proficiency with scheduling software (Buildertrend) to maintain timelines. Education, Certifications and Preferred Experience
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required; however, a degree or certification in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.Certifications:
Relevant certifications like OSHA 10-hour or CPR/First Aid training are often required for safety and compliance.Experience:
Previous experience working as a superintendent or in a hands-on construction role is essential, particularly in pool construction.- Other duties as assigned
