Description The Department of Mathematics at the University of North Alabama invites applications for a full-time, one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Mathematics, with an emphasis in Statistics, beginning August 2026. Applicants must hold a PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics Education, or a related field by August 2026. Salary is commensurate with degree and experience. The University of North Alabama Department of Mathematics offers BA, BS, and MS degrees in Mathematics. Application review will begin immediately and continue until the position has been filled. Sponsorship is not available for this position. Essential Job Duties Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate mathematics and statistics courses ranging from beginning to advanced levels. The regular teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. The primary responsibility of this position is high-quality instruction in both in-person and online formats. Minimum Qualifications Minimum requirements include a PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics Education, or a related field by August 2026. Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, including effective student engagement and support. Candidates should be familiar with current trends in mathematics education, including the use of instructional technology, and should have experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS). The successful candidate will work collaboratively with faculty and contribute to a positive learning environment. This is a one-year visiting position with limited service expectations.
