Job Description

A respected and growing general contractor in the Western Chicago Suburbs is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support a diverse portfolio of commercial and industrial construction projects . This role offers hands‑on exposure to all phases of the construction lifecycle and the opportunity to work closely with experienced Project Managers and senior leadership on complex, fast‑paced builds. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional looking to deepen their project management experience with a company known for long‑term client relationships, collaborative delivery, and repeat business. Key Responsibilities Assist in managing projects from preconstruction through closeout Support project scheduling, budgeting, cost tracking, and document control Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal field teams Assist with procurement, subcontractor buyout, and change order management Review submittals, RFIs, and project documentation for completeness and accuracy Participate in jobsite meetings and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders Help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards Experience Needed 3-5 years of experience working for a general contractor Exposure to commercial and/or industrial construction projects Experience supporting ground‑up construction, renovations, or interior build‑outs Familiarity with coordinating subcontractors and managing multiple project scopes Basic understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Strong organizational and communication skills Proficiency with project management and construction documentation software Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment Detail‑oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving Benefits & Perks Competitive base salary and performance‑based incentives Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with company match Paid time off and paid holidays Long‑term career growth with mentorship from experienced leadership Consistent project pipeline with repeat clients Supportive, collaborative company culture with low turnover Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Mid-Level Building Enclosure Consultant
