Job Description
Position Summary:
To assist the Ranger and in his absence perform the daily operation and maintenance of the camp facilities, grounds, vehicles and equipment. Provide hosting services to customers and provide general on-site security for customers and the camp. Hours will vary week to week based on workload demand, generally 20 hours, more during periods of heavy snowfall.Key Responsibilities:
1. Landscaping duties, lawn mowing, tree trimming/removal, snow and ice removal from walks/roads, trail and road maintenance 2. Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance as needed, repairs and scheduled improvements for camp buildings, grounds, equipment furnaces, boilers, food service equipment, water treatment equipment and fire safety equipment to the extent qualified and under the general oversight of the Ranger. 3. Assist in the initiation and management of emergency response 4. Work with Director of Facilities to ensure compliance of facilities and users to applicable standards in Safety wise, ACA Standards, State Licensing, Fire Safety, State, Local and Federal law 5. Trash removal and management 6. Opening and closing of seasonal facilities and care of seasonal camp equipment 7. Supervise vehicle traffic and enforce on-site traffic/vehicle rules 8. Maintain a high standard of housekeeping for all residential and program facilities by performing all necessary cleaning and sanitation tasks required before and after each facilities use 9. In cooperation with the Outdoor Education staff, work to support the operation of outdoor program activities including summer camps and year-round Outdoor Program activities and events 10. Provide general hosting and security for all customers on-sitePosition Qualifications:
1. Must have valid drivers' license 2. High school graduate or equivalent 3. College or relevant technical school experience preferred 4. Excellent relational skills for working with troop leaders and girls 5. Knowledge and ability to perform work in the areas of carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, landscaping and housekeeping desired 6. Training and experience in the safe operation or use of power equipment, hazardous materials and other tools or equipment related to construction, maintenance and housekeeping 7. Effective organizational skills 8. Effective communications skills 9. Effective understanding ofMicrosoft:
Word and Excel 10. Flexibility; adaptability to change 11. Strong customer service orientation and skills 12. Ability to work with a diverse population 13. Ability to work hours required in camp environmentEssential Requirements:
1. Must be able to lift 40 lbs as a frequent part of daily work, more on occasion 2. Physical and mental ability to work actively in a camp environment 3.
