Assistant Teacher

Job Title:

Assistant/Associate Teacher (Early Childhood Education)

Position Summary:

The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for young children. This role involves assisting with daily classroom activities, supervising children, and promoting their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times Support children's learning through play, exploration, and structured activities Help maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment Assist with daily routines such as meals, diapering/toileting, and nap time Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff Observe and report on children's behavior and development Follow all licensing regulations and center policies Help prepare materials and set up classroom activities Step into the Lead Teacher role when needed

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required (CDA or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred) Experience working with young children (infants, toddlers, or preschool) preferred Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and actively engage with children throughout the day

Work Environment:

Fast-paced, active classroom setting Requires standing, bending, lifting, and engaging with children at their level May include indoor and outdoor activities in various weather conditions

Schedule & Compensation:

[full-time any 40 hours. Part time 9:00am-3:00PM M-F]

Pay:

$15.00 - $22.00 per hour
