Job Description

Assistant/Associate Professor of Mathematics Expand Assistant/Associate Professor of Mathematics Louisiana Christian University seeks a qualified candidate to serve as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Mathematics. This is a full-time 9-month tenure-track teaching position to begin August 1, 2026. The position is open until filled. Louisiana Christian University's Department of Natural Sciences / Mathematics is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position to teach Mathematics. Additions to the academic program in the past six years (Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and Pre-Engineering) have broadened the range of mathematics coursework required for our students. LCU is looking for a versatile instructor to join this important sector of the academic program. Applicants will need to demonstrate teaching competency in Mathematics. Ability to teach introductory Engineering coursework would be a strong plus to complement the Pre-Engineering curricula. The position also requires that the faculty member be available for advising students and have a willingness to serve on college committees. The successful candidate will assist in curriculum planning and mapping to guide the direction of the Math program and its coordination with other science disciplines. Faculty development through scholarship activities including travel and research with undergraduates is strongly encouraged and funding is available through an endowment. Louisiana Christian University has a long tradition of excellence in preparing students for graduate school and for careers in the STEM disciplines. The BS in Mathematics and in Mathematics Education are foundational degree programs for preparing graduates for a range of career directions. Applicants will need to demonstrate teaching competencies in courses that will include the candidate's specialty area as well as other specific needs in the department. Courses are delivered in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Mathematics and / or graduate training which qualifies the candidate to teach Mathematics. Background in Engineering (qualification to teach) is a plus but not required. The candidate should demonstrate a Life calling to liberal arts education at a Christ-Centered College.
