Assistant/Associate Professor of Management Location Demorest (Main) Campus Job Type Full-Time Faculty - 9 Month Job Number 202500137 Division Walker College of Business Opening Date 12/08/2025 Closing Date Continuous Description Founded in 1897, Piedmont University is aprivate, comprehensive liberal arts university with an enrollment of approximately 2,000 students at campuses in Demorest and Athens,Georgia. Description The Assistant/Associate Professor of Management in the WalkerCollege of Business at Piedmont University is a nine-month, non-tenure faculty position in management at the rank of assistant or associateprofessor (depending on the candidate's level of experience). The ideal candidate possesses the ability to teach courses at the bachelor'sand master's levels in the areas of Management, Human Resources and Organizational Behavior. Experience and interest in teaching courses inManagement Information Systems is also welcome. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester, with courses deliveredboth on campus and online. Excellence in teaching is prioritized, but scholarship in teaching and learning or within the discipline,involvement with advising, and service to the College, the University, and the profession are also expected. Opportunities exist to teachcourses in the summer in addition to the nine month contract, but there is no expectation of summer teaching. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Providing high-quality instruction and interacting with students in aprofessional manner; Advising students on both their educational progress and their personal and professionalgoals; Maintaining accurate and secure records of student grades, attendance, and advisement; Maintaining high standards ofprofessionalism in the content, objectives, teaching, and grading of all courses; Maintaining an understanding of college policiesand the curriculum and degree requirements of their respective schools; Participating in departmental, school, and college facultymeetings and serving on committees as appropriate; Contributing to the ongoing operation of their respective departments andschools; Assessing their teaching effectiveness via annual portfolios and evaluating courses formally in accordance with officialcollege procedure; Assuring their availability to students, faculty, staff, and administrators by posting and keeping reasonableoffice hours, as determined by the dean of their respective schools; Maintaining a professional level of scholarship by continuousstudy, research, and attendance and participation at professional meetings. These activities are supported by the college throughdepartmental travel funds and the faculty development program Filing accurate course syllabi with the appropriate school eachsemester The ideal candidate will: Be committed to providing students with the theoretical and practicalfoundation needed to succeed in a diverse array of business fields including leadership, management and operations. Have awillingness to utilize technology and computerized instructional methods. Be a servant style leader who is driven to see studentssucceed. Be an outstanding collaborator, working with industry to create ideal work experiences that provide Piedmont students witha comparative advantage. Possess successful experience in the application of student learning and assessment practices, processes,and technologies that enhance teaching is preferred. Possess effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstratestrong organizational ability. Possess strong knowledge of subject matter under CIP codes that include: 52.02 - BusinessAdministration, Management and Operations Demonstrate strong knowledge of instructional theory, educational practices, andassessment. Typical Qualifications Education and Experience Successful candidates musthave a terminal degree in management related field from a regionally accredited institution and significant work experience. Prior teachingexperience in a college/university environment highly preferred. Licenses and Certification ValidGeorgia Driver's License (or obtained within 30 days of hire date) and satisfactory MVR. Knowledge, Skills, andAbilities Be committed to providing students with the theoretical and practical foundation needed to succeed inthe competitive fields of finance. Have willingness and ability to utilize technology and computerized instructional methods. Be aservant style leader who is driven to see students succeed. Be an outstanding collaborator, working with industry to create idealwork experiences that provide Piedmont students with a comparative advantage. Possess successful experience in the application ofstudent learning and assessment practices, processes, and technologies that enhance teaching is preferred. Posses effective oral andwritten communication skills. Demonstrate strong organizational ability. Demonstrate strong knowledge of instructionaltheory, educational practices, and have a proven track record of fund development.

Incumbents will perform work that is mostly sedentary, where they exert up to 10 pounds of forceoccasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, includingthe human body. Incumbents will regularly get up and down from a seated position, reach, bend, and stand throughout the day. Incumbents are required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures,transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
