Job Description

PMA is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Data Governance Analyst to play a critical role supporting our enterprise data governance framework. The ideal candidate will act as a digital librarian; administrating data governance tools, coordinating impact analysis projects, providing data stewardship support, and overseeing third-party data assets. You will be responsible for ensuring that data is accurate, accessible, and aligned with PMA's data governance policies and strategic business objectives, supporting digital transformation, and enabling data democratization efforts across the organization. Data Asset Manager Administer the organization's data catalog, ensuring all data assets are accurately represented and easily searchable.
Ensure metadata, documentation, business glossary, and data catalogs are up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
Continuously update the data catalog with new data sources, assets, and relevant metadata.
Collaborate with data owners, stewards and custodians, to classify and catalog new data sets, ensuring proper documentation of lineage and access control.
Promote best practices and develop repeatable processes for data stewardship, ensuring users understand and adhere to data governance policies and procedures. Data Governance Tool Administration Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and day-to-day administration of data governance tools.
Monitor and troubleshoot any technical issues within data governance tools
Maintain user roles, permissions, and access rights to ensure data security and compliance within the tools.
Train and support internal users on the functionality and best practices of the data governance platform, ensuring effective tool adoption across the organization.
Continuously assess new features and updates, making recommendations for system improvements. Management of Third-Party Data Assets Manage relationships with third-party data vendors, ensuring compliance with data governance standards and contractual obligations.
Oversee the integration of third-party data into internal systems, maintaining metadata, access, and security protocols.
Evaluate third-party data assets for quality, relevance, and alignment with organizational objectives. Internal Collaboration As a Data Governance Analyst, you will work closely with various departments such as underwriting, claims, legal and IT to ensure data consistency, quality, and compliance. This collaboration helps align data initiatives with business goals to improve data-driven decision-making. You will provide training and support to employees on data governance policies and best practices, fostering a data-centric culture within the organization. You will also participate in various data governance meetings that include domain leaders and data management professionals. These groups connect data strategy with corporate strategy and address data-related issues. External Collaboration You will work with external vendors to implement and support data governance tools and technologies and engage with industry groups and forums to stay updated on best practices and emerging trends in data governance. Demonstrate commitment to Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and apply knowledge of compliance policies and procedures, standards and laws applicable to job responsibilities in the performance of work.
#LI-Hybrid Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Library Sciences or a related field. 2-3 years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles.
