Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Associate Optometrist, where your expertise will directly impact patients' vision and overall eye health. In this vital role, you'll perform comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular conditions, and provide personalized care to a diverse patient population. Responsibilities Conduct thorough eye examinations using advanced diagnostic tools and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems to assess visual acuity, ocular health, and overall physiology. Diagnose and treat common eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and refractive errors, utilizing your knowledge of ophthalmology principles. Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs, including pediatrics when applicable. Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and proper documentation of vital signs, medical history, and treatment plans. Collaborate with optical staff to recommend appropriate eyewear solutions and assist in sales efforts while prioritizing patient care. Follow aseptic techniques during examinations and procedures to uphold safety standards. Stay current with medical terminology updates, anatomy knowledge, and emerging trends in optometry to enhance service quality. Requirements Valid licensure as an Optometrist with active state certification or licensing requirements fulfilled. Proven experience in ophthalmology or general optometry practice, including pediatric patient care when necessary. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy of the eye, and medical coding related to ocular conditions. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for efficient documentation. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly approach that fosters trust and rapport with patients. Ability to perform vital signs assessments and apply aseptic techniques during examinations or procedures. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient privacy and data security.
