Job Description

Job description Masters Academy International Masters Academy International (MAI) is New England's only school that intentionally integrates pro-level coaching and top-tier academics to prepare future leaders, excelling in sport, scholarship, and life. At MAI, athletics are not an extracurricular add-on; they are a core pillar of student identity and future opportunity. Our student athletes pursue ambitious goals and train with purpose. The athletic program at MAI is designed to develop exceptional competitors while also cultivating the character, habits, and mindset required for long-term success. We believe in doing things the right way: with excellence, integrity, and care for the whole student. About the Role MAI is seeking an Athletic Director to build and lead a world-class athletic program aligned with the expectations of a Tier 1 independent school. This senior leadership role requires strategic vision, operational excellence, and strong people leadership within a high-performance environment. The Athletic Director will lead MAI's long-term athletic strategy, oversee all programming and operations, and drive student-athlete development while strengthening the school's competitive reputation and national profile. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced leader who values the connection between academics and athletics as a pathway to college placement, leadership development, and lifelong excellence. What You Will Do This role will set the strategic direction for the department, develop and mentor coaching staff, and ensure a high-quality student-athlete experience that supports both performance and well-being. The Athletic Director will oversee daily operations, scheduling, events, budgets, facilities, and compliance, while fostering alignment between athletics and academics, including pathways to college placement. This leader will also build strong relationships with families, school leadership, and external partners, ensuring that MAI's athletic program operates safely, professionally, and with excellence at every level. Who You Are You are energized by MAI's mission and the opportunity to build a world-class athletic program. You bring a strong sense of ownership and personal accountability, holding yourself and others to high standards, and you are an exceptional people leader who can inspire, coach, evaluate, and develop adults with clarity and care. Highly organized and operationally strong, you can manage complex schedules, multiple venues, and competing priorities while demonstrating sound judgment and remaining steady under pressure. You communicate with credibility and confidence across families, coaches, administrators, and board members, and you embrace continuous improvement, feedback, and professional growth. Above all, you are committed to fostering a culture of belonging and excellence in athletics. Qualifications

  • Experience:
