Term:
40 hrs/wk•181 days per school year (7:00 a.m•3:30 p.m.) Reports to: Principals
Qualifications:
General Expectations Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community Ability to independently supervise students Computer proficiency Must be able to commute between buildings Must have a valid MN Driver's License and have a vehicle to travel Possess a high standard of work ethic Good sense of humor
Duties and Responsibilities:
Carries out the provisions of the attendance policy for both the high school and middle school. Duties include compiling data, daily transmittal of reports, parent phone calls, detailed record keeping, extensive student contact, mailing attendance letters, and recording daily attendance notes Tracks and schedules substitutes. Calls or emails substitutes as needed. Collects vouchers, tracks comp time, provides substitute folders, provides class lists and keys at the beginning of the day, and collects at the end of the day Instruct employees on the Absence Management system Monitors the Absence Management system and ensures all classes are covered by a licensed teacher The person should be tolerant of the needs of students and parents, as well as patient and compassionate Serves as a receptionist to answer phone calls, deliver student messages; and direct students, substitute teachers, visitors, and inquiries to appropriate parties Assists with miscellaneous mailings Ability to understand and follow written and verbal behavior management plans. May need to work with individual student(s) with special needs while at the same time working with any and all students in this program Monitor students in the lunchroom as needed and enforce lunchroom rules Attend to medical and personal needs of students not requiring attention by licensed personnel Assist teachers as directed by the building principal Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and, simultaneously, talk and hear using a mobile communications device (i.e., walkie-talkie, cell phone) While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and stoop, kneel, walk, bend, and squat Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds Required restraining abilities +60 pounds (will train)
Work Environment:
Moderately noisy, with some dirt, dust, and temperature extremes including the lunchroom
Screening Procedures:
