07/01/2022 PRIMARY PURPOSE Maintain accurate student academic records at the campus level. Under direct supervision, perform data entry including attendance and other data.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
  • High school diploma or
GED Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
  • Ability to use computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases, and do word processing
  • Proficient typing, keyboarding, file maintenance, and 10-key typing skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to meet established deadlines
  • Knowledge of TEA requirements
Experience:
  • Two years of clerical or data entry experience preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Records, Reports, and Correspondence 1. Assist parents, students, and faculty with questions regarding student attendance. 2. Process parent and doctor notes and transmit requests for student information. 3. Call parents to verify student absences as needed and send attendance warning letters as needed. 4. Report all attendance problems to the designated administrator. 5. Collect and enter attendance into the established database and verify accuracy according to established procedures. 6. Prepare and print reports, including attendance reports, grades, class or personnel rosters, end-of-semester reports, and accounting reports. 7. Maintain physical and computerized records, including student cumulative folders, progress and failure reports, class rosters, grade books, and schedule changes, if applicable. Other 1. May assist with oversight of Assistant Attendance Clerk position.

Tools/Equipment Used:
Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals, calculator, and copier

Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Lifting:
Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

May work prolonged or irregular hours
