Position Title:
Auto Clinic Manager Position Summary:
The Auto Clinic Manager has a key role in overseeing the operations of the Hope on Wheels Auto Clinic, providing mechanical expertise for all fleet vehicles and customer vehicles. This position combines technical, administrative, and operational responsibilities to ensure the Auto Clinic runs smoothly and supports Hope Town's mission to provide recovery-centered opportunities for the community (•

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Mechanical and Maintenance Work:
a. Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on Hope on Wheels fleet vehicles and customer vehicles to manufacturer and safety standards. b. Apply solution-based problem solving to reduce repair costs and effectively troubleshoot issues with the Hope Town fleet. c. Perform scheduled servicing and maintain detailed service records. d. Maintain accurate inventory and service databases, including spare parts, purchase receipts, and vehicle records. e. Generate accurate invoice calculations while ensuring all invoices amounts are collected. Operations & Systems f. Manage day-to-day operations of the Auto Clinic, including scheduling, workflow prioritization, staff coordination, and productivity oversight to ensure efficiency - insuring a minimum of 55% productivity billing, supervision of staff, and long-term business scaling. g. Utilize organizational software and systems as directed to support accountability, task management, and reporting. h. Generate daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports with accurate and on-time reporting as required. i. Ensure proper management and storage of tools and equipment. Property & Facilities j. Conduct property maintenance, minor repairs, and custodial duties as needed for Hope Town properties to ensure compliance with state and local standards. Teamwork & Support k. Maintain professional relationships with staff, clients, and service vendors. l. Communicate in real time and follow up with team members to support smooth operations. m. Provide administrative support to leadership staff as needed. n. Occasionally serve as emergency backup driver for Hope on Wheels transportation services, ensuring timely and safe client transport. o. Support training initiatives by participating in coaching or instruction within the Training Institute. p. Be available for limited night and weekend work as required to fulfill responsibilities. q. Undertake other duties as delegated by the Program Director and/or the CEO.
Qualifications Leadership Experience:
i. Minimum of 3 years of experience managing an automotive shop or related service operation. ii. Strong business background with the ability to oversee budgets, control costs, and drive shop profitability. iii. Proven experience in pricing and estimating automotive services , including labor, parts, and materials. iv. Hands -on shop management experience , including scheduling, workflow coordination, and technician supervision. v. Solid understanding of automotive repair processes , quality control, and customer satisfaction standards. vi. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Expertise:
i. Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic, with ASE Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). ii. Strong understanding of vehicle diagnostics, repair, tools, and property maintenance procedures.
Organizational Skills:
i. Experience managing operations or a team in an automotive or related field. ii. Excellent time management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Additional Skills:
i. Competency in working with computer systems and administrative software (e.g., Microsoft Office). ii. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. iii. Experience with property maintenance preferred. iv.
Physical Requirements:
v. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and remain in a stationary position for extended periods. vi. Comfortable working in a garage environment and exposed to weather elements.
