Auto Part Inventory Buyer (on the road)

Bam Bam Auto Parts sells reconditioned headlights to Collision Repair Shops. The company was founded in January 2023 by two owner/managers, each with over 35 years of experience. Business is booming for us, and our four inventory buyers are maxed out, so it's time to add a fourth buyer to our team. Candidates should live in the South Bend, IN area: your territory will include South Bend, SE Chicago, Fort Wayne, Lima, Grand Rapids, and other nearby cities. Most days will be day trips, with one overnight per week stay. Bam Bam provides a company van and pays the fuel expense.

Skills Needed:

• Product knowledge (we will train you), but experience with body shop work, shop estimating systems, OEM part numbers, and a personal interest in cars is valuable. For example, we have hired Body Shop Managers, Insurance Estimators, Oil Lube Managers, Tire Store Managers for this job (always with significantly higher pay and improved work lifestyle)
• Great work ethic and track record of success

• Negotiation skills, good memory, detail oriented, outgoing personality
• Relationship building
• our suppliers are Automotive Collision Centers
• Ability to safely drive a small work van, good driving track record

Responsibilities:

• Learn our product line and how to use our software tool in valuing inventory
• Driving approximately 200 miles per day, visiting your assigned suppliers
• Achieve purchasing goals, leading to large monthly bonuses (on top of salary)
• Give feedback to the company from what you observe and learn in the marketplace

Qualifications:

• Experience or interest in the automotive industry, experience with Body Shop Estimating systems, auto body repair, and OEM auto part numbers
• High School or College Education Bam Bam Auto Parts
