We're supporting our client, a leading food manufacturer based in Maspeth, New York who are looking for an Automation Technician to join their growing team. The successful Automation Technicianwill have strong background in maintenance, automation, reliability, and industrial machinery who enjoys both hands-on engineering and technical problem solving.

Job Summary:

As an Automation Technician, you'll work closely with a skilled maintenance team of three and play a key role in improving machine reliability, automation performance, and overall plant efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance across production equipment
• Diagnosing machine faults and implementing effective solutions
• Supporting machine upgrades and continuous improvement projects
• PLC troubleshooting and programming
• Working with automated packaging lines and robotic systems
• Assisting with commissioning and integration of new equipment
• Improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime
• Collaborating with operations and engineering teams to optimize plant performance

About You:

• Experience within manufacturing, automation, or industrial maintenance environments
• Strong understanding of machinery, controls, and reliability practices
• PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
• Exposure to robotics and automated production systems
• Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical faults
• Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
