Job Description

Overview We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Automotive Service Writer to join our dynamic dealership team. The ideal candidate will serve as the vital link between customers and our service technicians, ensuring a seamless experience in vehicle maintenance and repair. This role requires strong communication skills, automotive industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. Prior dealership experience and familiarity with auto service are highly valued. Duties Greet customers promptly and professionally, understanding their vehicle concerns and service needs Write detailed service estimates and repair orders, accurately documenting customer requests and technician recommendations Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, brake repairs, suspension work, transmissions, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repairs Coordinate with service technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of work Manage vehicle diagnostics and assist in identifying mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics tools Handle payment transactions and process payments accurately Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, service history, and estimates in the our management system Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs, costs, and recommended services clearly and professionally Qualifications Previous dealership experience or auto service management background preferred Strong knowledge of automotive repair including transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, air brakes, alignment, and auto body repair Mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics and service writing Proven ability to upsell services while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence Ability to handle payment transactions accurately and responsibly Familiarity with auto estimating software is a plus Automotive technician or mechanic experience is advantageous but not required for all applicants Join our team as an Automotive Service Writer to deliver top-tier service experiences while working in a professional environment that values expertise and customer satisfaction.
