Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automotive Technician to join our team at Safe Tire and Auto. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing various makes and models of vehicles. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform accurate diagnostics on vehicles using diagnostic tools and test equipment Inspect vehicle engine, mechanical, electrical, and computer systems to identify issues Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and brake inspections Repair or replace worn parts such as brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors, belts, and hoses Ensure all work meets or exceeds industry standards and customer expectations Use service manuals and technical data to identify proper repair procedures Keep detailed records of work performed and parts used Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding issues and repair timelines Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Stay updated on new automotive technology and participate in ongoing training
Required Qualifications:
State Automotive Certifications
REQUIRED
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Minimum [2-5] years of experience as an automotive technician/mechanic Valid driver's license and clean driving record Proficient with diagnostic equipment and automotive tools Strong understanding of vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, brakes, HVAC, and electrical Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics ASE certification(s) preferred or willingness to obtain within [6-12] months
Preferred Skills:
Experience with both domestic and import vehicles Knowledge of computerized shop management systems Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting abilities Excellent time management and organizational skills Team player with a customer-focused attitude
Working Conditions:
Full-time schedule, including occasional weekends or extended hours Physical requirements include standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in a noisy environment Exposure to automotive fluids, chemicals, and machinery
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$20.00 - $35.00 per hour
