based off of experience! What Will You Do?
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc. to specification.
  • Perform work outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealer and manufacture/factory standards.
  • Full automotive troubleshooting and testing.
  • The successful candidate will propose creative, practical, and cost effective solutions to problems and process the improvements.
  • Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers.
  • Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs.
  • Ensure that customer vehicles are repaired accurately and kept clean - road test vehicles to ensure quality repair the 1st time.
  • Keep shop area neat and clean. What skills do you bring to the role?
  • Automotive / Auto Service Excellence (ASE) preferred with 2-5 years of experience
  • State and Emissions License preferred.
  • Great work ethic: reliable and dependable.
  • Proven and consistent track record as Automotive Technician/Mechanic of achieving or over-achieving goals/results.
  • Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.
  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
  • Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Must have a "can-do" personality.
  • Professional appearance, demeanor, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to multi-task and work at a fast pace.
  • Willingness to learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology.
Competencies Exceptional customer service skills Excellent communication skills including the ability to listen to customers and determine how to assist them Ability to work well in a team environment Knowledge of automotive systems, tools, and repair processes Outstanding attention to detail with a commitment to quality Ability to use technical reference materials and technical manuals in written and online formats Ability to communicate technical terms to non-technical audience Ability to follow processes to ensure quality and safety Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize Supervisory Responsibility None Work Environment Will primarily work in an automotive shop environment. Workspace is covered but may involve various weather conditions such as heat and cold as well as safety hazards due to the nature of work. May experience loud noise on a regular basis. Physical Demands Medium/Heavy Work---Will lift over 50 pounds with assistance device required and/or frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to or over 35 pounds with assistance device available as needed.

This position will require the employee to be standing for prolonged periods of time. This position requires the ability to push, pull, climb, stoop, kneel, reach, grasp, and walk on a regular basis. This position involves repetitive motion. This position requires the ability to talk and hear. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Work evening, weekend, and holiday work hours as required. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or the equivalent and two-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Education and Experience Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications (Certification/Licenses/Registrations) ASE Certification is preferred
