Automotive Technician Trainer — Now Hiring

Kost Tire & Auto Service is seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and motivated Automotive Technician Trainer to support technician development across our 34 retail locations. This role is ideal for a top‑tier technician or shop leader who excels at teaching, coaching, and building consistent, high‑quality repair standards. About the Role The Automotive Technician Trainer will be responsible for: Training new and existing technicians on proper repair procedures Delivering hands‑on instruction for brakes, alignments, steering/suspension, tires, oil service, and diagnostic basics Teaching correct use of tools, equipment, and safety protocols Conducting in‑store coaching sessions and skill evaluations Supporting rollout of new training programs, SOPs, and certification modules Ensuring consistency and quality across all locations Working closely with store managers and district managers to identify training needs What We're Looking For 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience Strong knowledge of modern vehicle systems and diagnostic fundamentals Proven ability to teach, coach, and communicate clearly High personal standards for safety, accuracy, and workmanship Ability to travel between store locations as needed Positive attitude, patience, and leadership presence Preferred Experience Prior experience as a shop foreman, lead technician, or trainer ASE certifications (not required but strongly preferred) Experience with multi‑location operations or standardized training What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience Company vehicle or mileage reimbursement Paid training and professional development Supportive leadership team and strong company culture Opportunity to directly shape technician performance and store success
