June About the Opportunity We're seeking experienced Avionics Technicians to support classified heavy modification programs on fixed‑wing military aircraft in Colorado Springs . This role directly supports mission‑critical defense operations and requires precision, discipline, and professionalism. You'll work hands-on installing and modifying avionics systems across entire aircraft in a secure, FAA‑regulated environment. This is a great fit for technicians who enjoy complex installs, structured programs, and long-term defense work. Compensation, Per Diem & Start Timeline $40/hr total compensation Per diem available for those who qualify (split per diem structure) June start timeframe Personal tools required (shadowed toolbox; tools etched or color‑marked by Day 1) Security Requirements Must have an active Secret Security Clearance OR be eligible to obtain one What You'll Do Perform classified heavy modifications on military aircraft Remove existing avionics systems and install new wire harnesses throughout entire aircraft Terminate a wide variety of connectors requiring precision crimping and routing Work primarily on C‑130 and KC‑135 airframes Follow strict technical data, security protocols, and quality standards Accurately document completed work in accordance with program requirements What We're Looking For 4+ years of avionics experience Strong connector termination experience Proficiency using multiple types of crimpers (minimum of three) Ownership of required avionics tools with properly marked and shadowed toolbox Stable work history Ability to work in a secure, classified environment Additional Qualifications Avionics installation or modification experience preferred Prior military or defense program experience is a plus Flexibility to support different shifts if required Ability to work overtime based on program needs (not guaranteed weekly) Work Environment Work is performed in a climate‑controlled, FAA‑regulated hangar supporting classified military programs. Shift schedules vary by program, with most technicians on first shift and some second‑shift coverage required. This is a long‑term, open‑ended contract with the potential to convert to direct hire based on performance and program needs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Collins, CO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
