Job Description Position Overview:

The Baker's Assistant supports the lead baker in daily production of baked goods, ensuring high-quality products and a clean, organized workspace. This role involves hands-on preparation, baking, cleaning, stocking, and assisting with customer needs as required. A great fit for someone who enjoys working with food, staying busy, and being part of a fast-paced bakery environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Production & Preparation Assist with measuring, mixing, and preparing doughs, batters, fillings, and toppings. Shape, portion, and assemble bakery items such as cookies, pastries, breads, and specialty items. Operate basic bakery equipment safely (mixers, ovens, sheeters, etc.). Baking & Finishing Monitor bake times to ensure products are baked to standard. Decorate or finish items as directed (glazing, icing, garnishing). Label, tray, and package baked goods properly. Organization & Cleanliness Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation following food safety guidelines. Wash dishes, tools, and equipment throughout the shift. Rotate stock and ensure ingredients are stored properly. Customer Service (if applicable) Assist customers at the counter when needed. Answer basic product questions and provide friendly service. Teamwork & Communication Follow recipes and instructions from the lead baker accurately. Communicate when supplies are low or equipment issues arise. Support overall bakery operations as needed.

Requirements:

Interest or experience in baking or food preparation (experience preferred but not always required). Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30-50 lbs. Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn. Reliable, punctual, and able to work early mornings, weekends, or holidays as required. Ability to follow safety and food handling procedures.

Pay:

$18.00 per hour
