We specialize in handcrafted gelato, espresso drinks, desserts, and curated retail items, all served in a lively coastal setting. Our focus is on quality, hospitality, and creating a memorable guest experience.

Position Overview:

We're seeking friendly, detail-oriented Gelato, Coffee & Sweet Shop Associates to join our team. This role combines front-of-house service, barista responsibilities, product knowledge, and inventory awareness. You'll play a key role in delivering exceptional service while maintaining the shop's visual appeal and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Sales

• Greet guests warmly and create a welcoming, upbeat environment
• Offer samples and guide customers through gelato flavors, coffee options, and desserts
• Take accurate orders and provide thoughtful recommendations
• Operate the Toast POS system, handle transactions, and balance cash responsibly
• Upsell retail items, packaged sweets, and beverages Gelato & Dessert Preparation
• Scoop gelato with proper portioning and presentation standards
• Prepare milkshakes, affogatos, and other specialty desserts
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of display cases
• Ensure proper storage, rotation, and freshness of all products Barista Duties
• Prepare espresso-based drinks (latte, cappuccino, americano, etc.) to company standards
• Steam and texture milk properly, including basic latte art (preferred)
• Dial in espresso, monitor shot quality, and adjust grind as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of espresso machines and grinders
• Restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, and supplies
• Follow all health and safety guidelines related to beverage preparation Inventory & Merchandise Monitoring
• Track inventory levels for gelato ingredients, coffee supplies, packaging, and retail merchandise
• Assist with routine inventory counts and report discrepancies
• Restock and maintain visually appealing merchandise displays
• Communicate low-stock items and ordering needs to management Shop Maintenance
• Keep all service areas, equipment, and seating areas clean and organized
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including setup and breakdown
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company policies Team Collaboration
• Work closely with team members and kitchen staff to ensure smooth, efficient service
• Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a café, gelato shop, or food service environment preferred
• Barista experience or willingness to learn espresso preparation required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math and cash-handling skills
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
