Job Title:
Taproom Bartender (Part-Time) Reports to: Management and Ownership as directed
Starting Pay:
$17.13 to $18.95 per hour plus tips - eligible for raises/incentives
Job Summary:
The Bartender is a team-oriented individual who represents Moses Lake Taproom (MLT) with dedication and a passion for craft beer, liquor, ciders, seltzers and more. Taproom Bartenders are responsible for creating a welcoming environment for our customers by providing industry leading service. This is accomplished with a customer first attitude, being knowledgeable about craft beer and being passionate about our mission.
Taproom Responsibilities:
Sell draft beer, wine, packaged beer, cocktails and merchandise to our customers. Responsible for preparing limited food items. Educate guests about rotating taps. Maintain a clean bar, taproom, outdoor seating area, food prep area and restrooms. Wash and sanitize glassware. Answering the phone with great customer service. Assisting in maintaining proper inventory of merchandise.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.
Experience and Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. 1 year or more experience as a bartender in the craft beer industry or 2 years bar experience is preferred but not required. Basic knowledge of beer offerings (flavors, ingredients, etc.) to answer questions from customers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with customers and coworkers in a professional manner. Excellent organization and coordination skills. Able to manage priorities and routine functions effectively and efficiently. Decision making skills - collect, assess, and interpret relevant information and make sound judgment.
Equipment, Machines and Software Used:
This position requires the regular use of a tablet for the point of sale system.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, crouch, kneel, crawl, walk and use hands to perform repetitive motions of the hands and/or wrists. Ability to exert up to 150 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and be able to move kegs which weigh close to 165 pounds. Keg dolly available for assistance.
Environmental Conditions:
The employee is subject to inside and/or outside environmental conditions but with none present to the extent of being undesirable.
Other Requirements:
Must have ability and willingness to maintain flexible work schedules, as weekend and extended workdays are necessary. Must have or be willing to obtain a MAST 12 Permit and Food Handlers Card from the State of Washington.
