Job Description

SCOPE OF WORK
The Behavioral Health Outreach Specialist for the Standing Rock Tribal Health Program leads the development, coordination, and implementation of culturally grounded wellness initiatives that promote physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. This position is responsible for advancing community-wide behavioral health outreach, strengthening access to services, and fostering resilience among individuals and families across all eight districts of Standing Rock. The Specialist serves as a key liaison between the community, behavioral health providers, and partner organizations, ensuring services are accessible, culturally relevant, and responsive to emerging needs.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and manage all aspects of the Standing Rock Wellness Program, ensuring delivery of holistic, culturally grounded behavioral health services. Oversee budgets, track expenditures, ensure fiscal accountability, and manage grants/contracts, including securing additional funding opportunities. Ensure compliance with federal funding requirements and submit accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to governing bodies. Develop and implement initiatives, workshops, and campaigns that promote mental health, self-care, and culturally relevant wellness practices. Work with wellness professionals, contract representatives, and community networks to expand services and support individuals in need. Analyze program data to measure impact, guide improvements, and supervise staff through training, support, and performance evaluations. Perform additional duties as delegated by the Tribal Health Administration.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Behavior Health, Public Health or related field. Experience in supervision of staff, ability to work independently, manage crisis situations, and apply sound, creative problem-solving. Valid Driver's License.
SHIFT:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
TESTING AND BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS
Subject to pre-employment, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing. Must submit to a background check.
HIRING PREFERENCES
Qualified applicants who are enrolled members of a federally recognized Tribe will receive Native American preference. Qualified applicants will receive Veteran's Preference with submission of proof of honorable military service (e.g., DD-214).
