Job Description
SUMMARY:
Instructors work as part of a team, within a small group setting, to support individuals with varying intellectual and/or physical abilities. These clients may, from time to time, react to situations by demonstrating behavior(s) that require modification coaching/modeling as they strive to reach their full potential. Support to clients could be done either on-site at Desert Arc or within the community. Settings will vary between work and places that support activities related to daily living.REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid California Driver License
- First Aid and CPR Certification (Training may be provided by Desert Arc)
- Clean DMV Record and Clean Background Check
- Valid Vehicle Insurance and Proof of Valid Registration
- Attend All Safety and Required Training Classes
- Maintain Certification in Crisis Prevention (provided in-house) and Active Treatment Crisis Management (provided)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Continuously monitor assigned clients to ensure their safety, engagement, and well-being.Communication:
Maintain open and effective communication with the Floor Supervisor, Off-Site Supervisor, Program Manager, and other team members to support client needs.Documentation:
Complete all required client documentation accurately and on time each day.Attendance:
Adhere to attendance standards as outlined in the employee handbook to ensure consistent client support.Team Collaboration:
Foster professional working relationships with the Behavior Consultant and other team members to implement behavior plans effectively.Flexibility:
Be adaptable to working in various employment or activity environments with assigned clients, performing specialized duties that may vary daily.Incident Reporting:
Report any health, safety, or behavioral incidents to a supervisor immediately. Remain on-site until all required reporting and documentation are approved by management.Work Environment:
This position requires community driving and supervision of clients in a variety of public/community settings.Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by a qualified candidate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job- The employee must have the ability to lift (minimum 40 lbs.), pull, push, run and manipulate/use adaptive equipment in the assistance of our clients that requires strength and gross/fine motor coordination.
- The employee must be able to perform CPR and administer First Aid.
- This position requires sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.
- This position requires the ability to operate an automobile, a computer/tablet and various mechanical lifts as needed (training provided).
- The employee must be able to climb stairs and provide supportive services to clients in various settings, both on-site and in the community.

Duties are subject to change due to agency growth and restructure. Daily operations are also subject to change based on established outcome measurements of systems incorporated in program operations.REPORTS TO

Assist clients with daily job tasks and provide role modeling to help them achieve employment or activity standards.Personal Care:
Provide assistance with personal care needs as required, maintaining client dignity and comfort.Other Duties:
Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the program and its goals.Pay:
