Category Schools - Behavior Specialist Job Type Contract Make a strong impact supporting students and educators as a Behavior Specialist in a dynamic school environment near Huntsville, AL. Key Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in psychology, social work, special education, or a related field Valid and current certification or licensure as required by the state Prior experience working as a Behavior Specialist or in a similar educational setting Strong understanding of behavioral intervention strategies, Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work with diverse students, faculty, and families Ability to collect and analyze behavioral data, and adjust strategies based on student progress
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans for students Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to support student behavioral and academic success Conduct assessments to identify students' behavioral needs and track progress toward defined goals Provide direct support and coaching for students using evidence-based strategies Deliver training and resources for school staff and parents to create consistent, effective approaches to behavior management Contribute to a safe and positive school climate where every student can thrive This is an excellent chance to broaden your professional skills while making a difference in the lives of students.
