Located in Western PA and servicing members in 32 Pennsylvania counties, we are overseen by a Board of Trustees made up of employers and union representatives. We are seeking a Benefits Administrator. The Benefits Administrator is client facing, working with the union's healthcare fund's participants to ensure prompt and accurate access to their health and welfare monies. This role requires customer service proficiency, attention to detail, and willingness to learn. Experience in healthcare and Taft-Hartley funds is a plus but not required, training will be available. The ideal candidate must be able to think critically and operate independently while maintaining a positive attitude while helping employers and plan participants.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Data entry and information processing: Enrolling participants in healthcare coverage, processing address and personal data changes, adding and terminating dependents and coverage.
Customer service:
Answering participant and employer questions and issues, researching participant records, and solving participant and employer issues as they arise. Manage electronic enrollment files, data input, and extract capabilities. Add and review records find discrepancies and resolve issues that resulted from discrepancies. Job requires communication of issues and solutions to all affected parties. Ensure accurate billing and enrollment. This may include refund generation or other resolution.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred. Customer service experience preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Benefit administration experience a plus. The ideal candidate must be able to work well on a small team setting while also being able to act independently and manage their time. The job requires actively listening to clients' needs and balancing multiple tasks at once. The candidate will be able to make educated decisions based on information and resources available to them.
LOCATION, HOURS, AND COMPENSATION
This is a full-time, non-exempt position on-site at the fund's benefit office (101 Ewing Rd, Carnegie, PA 15106). Working hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm. The position starts at $21 per hour, with opportunities for advancement available based on performance. The competitive benefits package includes paid time off, healthcare, annuity fund, and pension.
