Job Overview Universe Carrier Inc. is seeking a motivated and organized Recruiter to join our team in Huntley, IL. This position plays a key role in supporting hiring efforts across multiple departments, with a primary focus on recruiting CDL drivers and other transportation-related positions. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of recruiting, talent acquisition, staffing, military recruiting, or related people-focused experience. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple candidates at once, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment. Candidates with military, veteran, National Guard, Reserve, military spouse, or transferable military experience are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle recruitment for assigned positions, including CDL drivers, office staff, operations, warehouse, and support roles Post, update, and manage job advertisements on Indeed and other recruiting platforms Source candidates through job boards, referrals, social media, databases, and direct outreach Conduct phone screenings and initial candidate assessments Schedule interviews and coordinate communication between candidates and hiring managers Maintain consistent follow-up with candidates throughout the hiring process Support CDL driver hiring by collecting required information and assisting with DOT-related onboarding steps Coordinate background checks, MVR reviews, drug screenings, and other pre-employment requirements for DOT-regulated roles Maintain accurate candidate records in the applicant tracking system and internal files Track recruiting activity, candidate progress, and hiring status Communicate with department managers regarding staffing needs, candidate updates, and hiring timelines Assist with onboarding coordination to help ensure a smooth transition for new hires Represent Universe Carrier Inc. professionally during all candidate interactions Support recruitment process improvements as the company continues to grow Qualifications Minimum 1 year of recruiting, talent acquisition, staffing, military recruiting, or related experience preferred Experience in transportation, logistics, trucking, warehouse, or high-volume recruiting preferred CDL driver recruiting experience is a strong plus Basic understanding of DOT hiring requirements is preferred, but not required Bilingual English and Spanish encouraged Strong verbal and written communication skills Comfortable making outbound calls and managing high-volume candidate follow-ups Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to prioritize multiple openings and candidate pipelines at the same time Professional, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment Comfortable using job boards, applicant tracking systems, spreadsheets, and basic office software Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required with relevant experience Military Experience Encouraged Universe Carrier Inc. values the skills and experience that military-connected candidates may bring to the workplace, including discipline, accountability, leadership, communication, adaptability, and the ability to perform under pressure.
