Billing & Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing & Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our logistics company. This position is responsible for preparing customer invoices, monitoring outstanding balances, processing collections, and ensuring timely payments while maintaining excellent customer service and accurate financial records. Key Responsibilities Prepare and issue invoices for freight, transportation, warehousing, customs, and related logistics services. Verify shipment documentation, rates, and charges before billing customers. Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on overdue invoices. Process customer payments and apply payments accurately in the accounting system. Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies. Coordinate with operations and customer service teams regarding shipment and billing issues. Maintain accurate records of invoices, collections, credits, and adjustments. Prepare weekly and monthly AR reports for management. Assist with month-end closing and financial audits. Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in billing or accounts receivable. Knowledge of invoicing procedures and collections processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and customer service abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Preferred Skills Understanding of freight charges, tariffs, customs, and transportation documentation. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
