PTO and Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance (available after 90 days of employment) About the Role Our growing medical office is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Biologic Therapy Coordinator to join our team. This key role ensures our patients receive timely access to biologic therapies while navigating the complexities of insurance approvals and specialty medication management. We are looking for a candidate with experience working with biologics who is eager to learn and grow with our expanding practice. The right individual will play a crucial role in patient care by coordinating therapy access, working closely with providers, insurance companies, and specialty pharmacies.
Key Responsibilities Prior Authorization & Insurance Coordination:
Submit and track prior authorizations for biologic therapies and specialty medications Communicate with insurance companies to verify coverage, benefits, and requirements Follow up on pending or denied authorizations and assist with appeals Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR system Collaborate with providers to obtain required clinical documentation
Biologic Therapy Coordination and Authorizations:
Manage the authorization, procurement, and ongoing administration of biologic medications Coordinate with specialty pharmacies and manufacturer programs Assist patients with enrollment in copay or patient assistance programs Educate patients on biologic therapy logistics and next steps Track medication shipments and schedule in-office or at-home administration Monitor reauthorization timelines to prevent treatment interruptions Qualifications Prior experience in prior authorizations required Experience working with biologic medications strongly preferred Knowledge of specialty pharmacy workflows Familiarity with insurance verification and appeals processes Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills Excellent communication and patient service abilities Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, growing office environment EMR experience preferred Why This Role Is Important Biologic therapies can be life-changing for patients with chronic or complex conditions.
