About the
Role:
The Biologic Coordinator plays a critical role in managing and facilitating the administration of biologic therapies within healthcare settings. This position ensures that patients receive timely and appropriate biologic treatments by coordinating between healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients. The coordinator oversees the entire process from prior authorization, scheduling, and patient education to monitoring treatment adherence and outcomes. By maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with multidisciplinary teams, the Biologic Coordinator helps optimize patient care and treatment success. Ultimately, this role supports the seamless delivery of complex biologic therapies, improving patient experiences and clinical results. Full-time Biologic Coordinator Allergy and Immunology Associates of Michigan has been providing amazing care to Michigan families all over South-East Michigan for 40 years with 7 locations currently seeing patients. We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Biologic Coordinator to join our growing practice. This position is responsible for coordinating biologic therapies for patients with asthma, eczema, chronic hives, nasal polyps, food allergies and other allergic/immunologic conditions.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred. Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably with biologic therapies or infusion services. Strong knowledge of insurance prior authorization processes and medical terminology. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and standard office software.Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field. Experience as a patient coordinator, case manager, or in a specialty pharmacy setting. Familiarity with biologic medications used in autoimmune, oncology, or other specialty areas. Certification in medical billing, coding, or case management. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary healthcare teams.Responsibilities:
Coordinate the scheduling and administration of biologic therapies for patients in collaboration with healthcare providers and infusion centers. Manage prior authorization processes with insurance companies to secure coverage for biologic treatments. Serve as the primary point of contact for patients receiving biologic therapies, providing education and support throughout their treatment journey. Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of patient treatment plans, insurance approvals, and clinical outcomes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and billing specialists to ensure efficient and compliant biologic therapy delivery. Monitor patient adherence to prescribed biologic regimens and communicate any issues or concerns to the healthcare team. Stay current with biologic therapy protocols, insurance policies, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and best practices.Skills:
The Biologic Coordinator utilizes strong organizational skills daily to manage complex scheduling and documentation tasks, ensuring that biologic therapies are administered efficiently. Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives to facilitate treatment approvals and provide patient education. Proficiency with electronic medical records and insurance systems enables the coordinator to track treatment progress and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. Problem-solving skills are applied when navigating insurance denials or coordinating care adjustments to support patient adherence. Additionally, knowledge of biologic therapies and healthcare protocols allows the coordinator to stay informed and provide accurate guidance to all stakeholders involved in patient care.Benefits:
