Requirements:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school Admission to the State Bar of Michigan, or eligibility for admission by waiver or reciprocity 2-3 years of legal experience preferred Prior experience as an Assistant Prosecutor, Public Defender, or criminal defense attorney is strongly preferred Experience handling criminal sexual conduct cases, or a demonstrated interest in this area of practice Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills Courtroom and litigation experience Willingness and ability to handle hearings and jury trials Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment Excellent communication and client-relations skills

Responsibilities:

Manage criminal sexual conduct cases from inception through resolution Conduct legal research, motion practice, and case analysis Develop strategic defense approaches tailored to each client and case Represent clients in court proceedings, evidentiary hearings, and jury trials Collaborate with attorneys and staff to achieve the best possible outcomes Maintain consistent communication and support for clients during difficult and high-stakes situations
