SUNY Sullivan Biology Faculty Position Description About Us:

Job Summary:
SUNY Sullivan is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Biology. The incumbent must possess the ability to teach lecture and laboratory sections of General Biology, Microbiology, Human AnatomyPhysiology, and Nutrition courses designed primarily for nursing and science majors but also students with other majors. Faculty members are expected to participate in curriculum development and review and serve on college-wide committees. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a commitment to the community college philosophy and are willing to work in a collegial setting. We anticipate a Fall 2026 start date. These courses are scheduled to be taught on campus.
Qualifications:
Master's degree required Ph.D. preferred Experience in higher education, community college experience is a plus At least 3 years of teaching or equivalent experience. Ability to teach various modalities and experience with learning management systems such as
Brightspace Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach a half load of 15 contact hours in Fall Semester and 15 contact hours in Spring Semester of general biology, microbiology, human anatomy and physiology and nutrition courses, as well as potential additional courses related to the applicant's area of professional expertise. Revise and develop curriculum Prepare and present a course syllabus based on the agreed-upon curriculum and department standards Working with the Communications Department, develop program information for recruitment and other purposes Advise minimum number of students required by Collective Bargaining Agreement Establish assessment criteria and track/manage accreditation nstandard requirements Evaluate and assess students on the course learning outcomes Provide advisory services for students seeking extra help and career guidance through weekly office hours Develop and follow clear and transparent grading practices Timely submission of requested grades, attendance records, and academic paperwork by posted deadlines Perform other appropriate activities as assigned by the Chair, Director, Dean, and/or Vice President for
