Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Boat Captain, where your leadership and technical expertise will steer our vessel operations to new heights! In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely navigating boats, managing crew members, and ensuring smooth, efficient journeys on the water. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead with confidence while delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced maritime environment. Hours range from 6:30AM-3:30PM with some weekend work required. Part time work may be available. Duties Safely operate and navigate boats, adhering to all maritime laws and safety standards Lead and manage crew members, assigning tasks and ensuring teamwork for optimal performance Conduct pre-departure inspections, including rigging checks and mechanical assessments Oversee vessel maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and coordinating repairs as needed Ensure compliance with safety procedures, including life-saving equipment checks and emergency protocols Manage cargo loading/unloading processes with precision and attention to weight distribution Communicate effectively with team members and external agencies to coordinate operations and respond to emergencies Requirements Proven experience as a Boat Captain or in a similar maritime leadership role, preferably with military service background Boater safety course completion Strong management skills to lead crews efficiently and foster a safety-first culture Knowledge of rigging systems, mechanical components, and vessel maintenance practices Excellent understanding of maritime navigation laws, safety regulations, and environmental standards Ability to perform routine mechanical troubleshooting and basic repairs on vessels Valid boating license or captain's certification appropriate for the vessel size and type Physical ability to perform inspections, assist with cargo handling, and respond swiftly in emergency situations
