BOH Manager

Overview We're seeking a hands-on and highly organized Back of House (BOH) Manager to lead all kitchen operations and support the overall guest experience at Casting Iron. This role is responsible for overseeing BOH staff, maintaining food quality and safety standards, managing inventory and vendor relationships, coordinating private event food service, and ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operations. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in fast-paced hospitality environments, communicates clearly, takes ownership of operational systems, and leads by example. This position requires someone who can balance team accountability, customer satisfaction, food quality, budgeting, and organization while maintaining a positive and professional kitchen culture. This is a leadership role for someone who enjoys building systems, developing teams, solving problems quickly, and creating a consistently excellent guest experience through efficient BOH execution. This is a tipped position, accounting for the large range in hourly pay rate. Duties Team Leadership and Accountability Lead, hire, train, schedule, and manage all BOH staff while maintaining a professional and team-oriented environment. Ensure employee reviews, onboarding paperwork, and food handler certifications remain current and organized. Kitchen Operations and Customer Satisfaction Oversee daily kitchen operations to maintain efficient ticket times, smooth service flow, and high guest satisfaction. Support special event preparation and ensure POS systems remain updated with current offerings. Budgeting and Inventory Management Maintain food cost goals through proper ordering, portion control, inventory management, and waste reduction. Ensure appropriate staffing levels and minimize out-of-stock items through proactive planning. Vendor and Supply Management Manage Sysco orders and maintain operational supply levels including cleaning products, paper goods, and kitchen essentials. Maintain vendor relationships and organized supplier information for all operational needs. Food Quality and Product Consistency Ensure all food is prepared accurately, consistently, and to Casting Iron standards. Maintain quality control and presentation across all menu offerings. Organization and Cleanliness Develop and maintain cleaning schedules and organizational systems throughout the BOH. Oversee kitchen cleanliness, storage organization, and equipment upkeep. Menu and Product Development Collaborate with leadership to develop new food offerings, seasonal items, and promotional ideas. Support menu presentation and marketing initiatives aligned with the Casting Iron brand. Private Events and Catering Coordination Coordinate kitchen preparation and staffing for private events and group bookings. Communicate professionally with clients to confirm event details, pricing, and food service needs. Skills Leadership experience in hospitality, restaurant, or kitchen management Strong team management and accountability skills Experience with scheduling, inventory management, and vendor ordering Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen sanitation standards Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-volume environments Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Experience with POS systems and operational coordination preferred •ServSafe certification required or obtained within role •WATL coaching certification required or obtained within role
