Job Description

Job Summary BMAC Design + Build is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Office Manager to oversee day-to-day financial management and office operations. This role is critical in supporting the company's continued growth by ensuring accurate accounting, efficient administrative processes, and a professional client and vendor experience. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced residential design/build environment where organization, communication, and follow-through are essential. Key Responsibilities Bookkeeping & Financial Management Manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions using QuickBooks online software Process accounts payable and accounts receivable Prepare invoices, vendor payments, lien waivers, and customer billing Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements Track project budgets, job costing, and subcontractor payments Track BMAC internal field labor hours Assist with monthly financial reporting and cash flow tracking Coordinate with external CPA/accountant for tax preparation and year-end reporting Maintain organized financial records and documentation Monitor insurance certificates, licenses, and subcontractor compliance documentation Office Management & Administration Oversee daily office operations and administrative procedures Answer phones, manage emails, general mail and coordinate scheduling Support project managers and leadership team with administrative tasks Maintain client files, contracts, proposals, and construction documentation in Job Tread software system Coordinate office supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships Assist with permit tracking, inspections, and project paperwork Assist pre-construction team in bidding process Help improve office systems, workflows, and organizational processes Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions Client & Team Support Serve as a friendly and professional point of contact for clients and vendors Assist in coordinating meetings, walkthroughs, and project communications Support leadership with reporting, document preparation, and special projects Contribute to a positive, team-oriented company culture Qualifications 5+ years of bookkeeping and/or office management experience Experience in construction, remodeling, design/build, or trades industry preferred Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace. Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently High level of accuracy and attention to detail Professional demeanor and strong problem-solving skills Preferred Experience Work experience at a home builder, remodeler or general contractor environment Job costing and construction accounting AIA billing, construction draw preparation or progress billing Permit and subcontractor administration Proficiency in construction specific software such as Job Tread, Builder Trend or Procore is a major plus. If you have no experience in this area, quickly learn Job Tread is required. $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
