Job Description

The Administrative Supervisor 2 works within the Communications Department. The incumbent will supervise the hospital's communications operations, ensuring prompt and efficient service to the public, Communications Department staff, and personnel at all levels throughout the agency.

The ability to combine one's actions and efforts with others to work toward achieving a common goal. Three years of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION

Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience. The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here .

Job Duties:

Supervise the operation of the hospital's communication system by giving prompt and efficient service to the public, Communication Department staff and all levels of other agency personnel. Establish long and short term goals for the Communications Department. Participate in weekly meetings with the Director of Human Resources, Manager of Human Resources and Director of Training and Education. Interview, recommend and select for hire of potential employees. Plan, prepare, approve and assign weekly work schedules, approve any changes to schedule, ensure staffing of the Communication Department and providing the needed coverage of the facility, twenty-four (24) /seven (7). Compile and enter the application for leave time and attendance records of the Communications Department into the Peoplesoft HR 9.0 System. Locate staff telephone numbers and provides information to callers and visitors. Monitor alarms located in the Communications Department and announces Code Red if alarm sounds. Attends Educational In-Services, Mandatory Training and Annual Review as required by hospital policy and procedures, or deemed necessary by supervisor. Any and all other duties as assigned to include ensuring departmental coverage.

This position may be filled as a Probationary appointment or Promotional appointment.

Work Location:

The Administrative Supervisor 2 position is located in the Communications Department.

Shift:

This position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Career Progression:

This position does not qualify as a CPG position.

Compensation:

The compensation for this position is $16.86 per hour , in addition to any applicable shift differential pay, depending on the employee's assigned shift.
